Star Wars hologram communication now a reality!

November 13, 2007

Yeah… Cisco Telepresence powered by Musion , as it can be seen here.

We cannot send telepresence from Coruscant to Tatooine, heck not even from the Earth to the Moon, but it works pretty well from San Jose to Bangalore and it is in full color not only blue 😉

Musion were the guys behind the holographic performance of Gorillaz, so this is not really the first time something like that has been shown (in terms of holograms) but now that it can be used to do communications between two places far away it feels like we are starting to catch up with what we see in the movies. Isn’t that great?

  2. Please send me product info and minimum quantities for me to import to South Africa as well as price indication-FOB.Thank you.

  3. This isn’t true holography. They used a polymer sheet stretched across the stage with rear-projection images. 2D, not 3D.

    • It is still pretty awesome. Have you seen anything closer to it? If so, please share the link, that would be great
